What is BavisGam ?

Anand District of the Gujarat State is also known as “Charotar”. Charotar means Land of Golden Crops. Shri Bavish Gam Charotar Leuva Patidar Samaj is a group of 26 villages. It is also known as “Nani Sattavis”. “Patidar” means Patel Community (farmers) of the villages. All the farmers of the above villages produce tobacco .The dry leaf of tobacco is of golden colour. Samaj means society- A group of Patels. Bavis Gam Charotar Leuva Patidar Samaj (Matru-Sanstha) is a main body with 11 life time trustees. There are 26 villages of Anand District attached with the Samaj.

Total 617 life members of the above village take keen interest in the various activities of the Samaj.

Shri Bavis Gam Charotar Leuva Patidar Samaj was established in 1930.The leaders of samaj acquired 80 guntha land in Vallabh Vidyanagar in 1950. The land was purchased to construct a hostel for the students. The land was un-used till 1986.

The constitution of Samaj was framed and the Samaj was registered with the Dy. Charity Commissioner’s Office of Kheda on 1st Oct.1990 under the Bombay Public Charitable Trust Act 1950. The Registration no was Gujarat/805/Kheda, which has changed to Gujarat/344/Anand now, because of the bifurcation of the Kheda District.

The First trustees of the Samaj decided to utilize 80 guntha land with initial construction of a school building. The first donar Shri Naginbhai Khushalbhai Patel donated Rs. 11 Lacs.
